Govardhan Puja :
Govardhan Puja is a festival celebrated by the Hindus for Lord Krishna. The Vaishnava community commemorates on this day the incident from the Bhagavata Puran where Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan Hill to provide the people of Vrindavan village shelter from torrential rains by Lord Indra.
The metaphorically represents the Govardhan Hill, to God as a ritual remembrance and to renew their faith in taking refuge in God.
Each day of the five-day festivities of Diwali holds a special significance. Also known as the ‘Annakoot Puja’. Goverdhan Puja also commemorated as the day when Lord Krishna defeated God Indra.
