In view of the importance of road safety, IPS Officer Dr. Iraj Raza interacted with the students today i.e., January 22, 2019, at GD Goenka Public School Mahanagar Lucknow.
A child who learns about traffic rules and road discipline will grow up to be a law-abiding citizen. The habit of obeying traffic rules teaches a person a sense of responsibility, empathy for others and respecting the other person’s rights.
The road safety education organized by the school authorities from time to time is aimed to make students aware and educate them the traffic rules that they should abide by when they are on the road regardless whether it’s pedestrians or driving vehicles.
Road safety education helps students understand the importance of safety on the road when walking as a pedestrian or as one driving a vehicle. It’s also important to take immediate action such as calling the authorities for medical or transport aid or both.
Schools play a wider role in ensuring road safety by properly educating and informing the students about the importance of road safety. Apart from educating, schools need to adopt new technologies, sensitize students regarding their own safety and that of others too.
Dr. Iraj Raza urged the students to follow rules and promise to be law-abiding citizens. In conversation with the school’s Chairman, Mr. Sarvesh Goel, Dr. Iraj appreciated the school management’s efforts in adopting safe transportation methods of students and employing staff which is well versed with traffic rules and regulation. The technology used in school at the moment helps parents in live tracking the school buses, it sends real-time information to parents and tracks the behavior of the driving personnel.
