Recently Rakshabandhan Celebration at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. There is nothing like the bond of a brother and sister. Celebrating this special and adorable relationship, Hindus, across the world, celebrate Raksha Bandhan.
The expression, Raksha Bandhan, in Sanskrit literally means “the bond of protection or care”. On the day sisters tie Rakhi on the wrist on their brothers and this ritual celebrated the love the two share.

In Indian mythology, a full moon day is considered to be an auspicious day. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi falls on a full moon day in the month of Shravana (August) according to the Hindu lunisolar calendrer. All Hindus do land up to celebrate Raksha Bandhan through-out the world, mainly in India, Nepal and some regions of Pakistan. Raksha Bandhan is known by the different names in different regions of India.
