Army Day is celebrated annually on 15th January to commemorate Lieutenant General K. M. Cariappa assuming office as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The day serves as a solemn reminder of the unwavering courage, resilience, and dedication of the brave soldiers who safeguard the nation.
Army Day was celebrated on 16th January 2026 with great patriotic fervour and a deep sense of national pride. Teachers thoughtfully explained the significance of the day, highlighting the exemplary service, supreme sacrifices, and heroic contributions of the armed forces, thereby inspiring students to respect and honour them.
Students participated enthusiastically in a variety of well-planned activities. Toddlers created camouflage handprint “Thank You” hangings, Nursery students decorated paper soldier caps using finger painting, LKG students crafted fighter aeroplanes with paper and cotton dabbing, UKG students made soldier crafts using ice-cream sticks, Grade I students designed vibrant Army Day posters, and Grade II students completed worksheets featuring soldier colouring and a military-themed word search.
To further enrich the celebration, a strength and hurdle activity setup was organised, helping students understand the importance of physical fitness, courage, and teamwork in an engaging and enjoyable manner.
The activities not only nurtured creativity but also instilled values of duty, patriotism, and admiration for the armed forces. Overall, the Army Day celebration served as an inspiring platform to connect students with the spirit of national pride.
