GD Goenka Public School celebrated the vibrant festival of Holi on March 6 with great enthusiasm and joy on the school campus. The event aimed to teach students the importance of celebrating festivals in a safe, eco-friendly, and meaningful manner while preserving cultural traditions.

The celebrations began with an engaging short play performed by students, which set the festive tone for the day. Teachers also narrated the mythological story of Holika Dahan and Bhakt Prahlad, explaining the message that truth and goodness ultimately triumph over evil. The storytelling session helped students understand the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival.

Soon after, the atmosphere filled with excitement as teachers and students danced to lively Holi songs, creating a cheerful and energetic environment across the campus. Applause and laughter echoed throughout the celebration as children enthusiastically joined the festivities.

A special highlight of the celebration was the eco-friendly Holi activity organised in the school’s OAP area. Instead of chemical colours, students played Holi using flower petals, promoting a safe and nature-friendly way of celebrating the festival. The activity not only ensured safety but also encouraged students to appreciate and respect nature.

Adding to the creativity of the event, the little learners prepared colourful masks and vibrant glasses inspired by Holi themes. Students from the LKG and UKG classes created beautiful 3D craft models of pichkaris and buckets using paper, showcasing their artistic skills.

Meanwhile, Class I and II students created artistic handprint impressions depicting Holika Dahan, while some students designed Holi greeting cards for their friends, spreading messages of joy, friendship, and festive cheer.

The celebration was a perfect blend of learning, creativity, and cultural values, allowing students to experience the joy of festivals while understanding the importance of sustainability and safety.

Through such engaging activities, GD Goenka Public School continues to encourage students to celebrate traditions responsibly while fostering creativity, teamwork, and cultural awareness. The colourful celebration left the young learners with happy memories and a deeper appreciation for India’s rich festive heritage. 🎨🌼
