GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATED GANESH CHATURTHI:-

One of the most popular festivals of India is Ganesh Chaturthi. Many Hindus celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at home by worshipping an idol of Lord Ganesha followed by regular aarti and offerings of modak, the favourite sweet of Lord Ganesha.

He is the God of wisdom and prosperity and people in the Hindu religion worship him to get the same. People bring a clay statue of the Ganesha and keep it at home on Chaturthi and worship for 10 days and perform Visarjan on 11 day means on Anant Chaturdashi.

GD Goenka Public School also celebrated this auspicious occasion on 10 September, online and offline, where children of Pre Nursery and Nursery did “Lentils art” in which they had to stick different coloured lentils on the outline of Ganesha. This activity helped them to enhance their fine motor skills. K.G and Grade I moulded a statue of Ganesha with colorful play dough or kneaded dough. Grade II students did an engaging activity of word search in which they had to find the various names of Lord Ganesha in a puzzle. Students of K.G, Grade I, and II were shown a PowerPoint presentation and a short oral quiz was conducted thereafter.  Students were made aware of the hazardous effect of immersing the statues in the water bodies. They were encouraged to use clay instead which dissolves easily in water and is not harmful to the aquatic animals and is environment friendly. Children enjoyed watching short videos on Ganesha and promised their teachers to celebrate this beautiful festival in an eco-friendly way.
