Valentine’s Day was celebrated on 13 February with joy and enthusiasm in the Pre-Primary section of G D Goenka Public School Lucknow, to nurture feelings of love, care, and emotional bonding among children. The celebration aimed to help students understand the importance of expressing love and gratitude towards their parents, family members, teachers, and friends in a meaningful and age-appropriate way.
The classrooms were beautifully decorated with hearts and bright colours, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere. Teachers explained the concept of love, kindness, and sharing through simple discussions and examples suitable for each age group.
To make the celebration engaging and creative, various hands-on activities were conducted: Toddlers made a heart-shaped photo frame for their parents. Nursery children created a wall hanging using ice-cream sticks, encouraging creativity and fine motor skills. LKG students made a heart puppet as a token of love for their parents. UKG children designed and decorated Valentine’s Day cards for their loved ones. Grade I students wrote heartfelt messages on heart-shaped cut-outs and used them to make a pencil holder. Grade II students wrote messages for their loved ones on hot air balloon cut-outs and decorated them with heart designs.
Through these activities, children joyfully expressed their emotions while developing creativity, confidence, and social values. The celebration was filled with smiles, excitement, and positive interactions, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all.
The Valentine’s Day celebration successfully reinforced the values of love, care, and togetherness among the students.
