Students celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday by learning about his ideologies and the exemplary life that he led, in reality. GD Goenka Top CBSE School in Lucknow.
The K.G children recited a beautiful rhyme. Class I children sang the song ‘De di hamay Azadi Bina’. Class II students enacted the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to the freedom struggle especially the Dandi March and Non-Co-Operation Movement. Many class activities were also organized wherein Pre Nursery students colored a worksheet of Charka. Nursery children made a charkha with ice cream sticks and students of Kindergarten made crafts depicting the three symbolic monkeys. Class, I made a pen holder, and Class II made a picture of Gandhiji and wrote their favorite quote. Children were shown short videos on the life of Gandhiji and then discussed the philosophy of non-violence and the virtues cleanliness, compassion and cooperation. The day ended with everyone singing ‘Raghu Pati Raghav Raja Ram’ which is the most popular bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi.
