The spirit of curiosity, learning, and intellectual exploration was celebrated with great enthusiasm during the inter-school quiz competition titled “Quest for Knowledge”, organised collaboratively by The Times of India (NIE), Sharda University, and Lucknow Public School (Sector I), Ashiyana. The prestigious academic event witnessed vibrant participation from students across several schools, transforming the venue into a hub of knowledge, excitement, and healthy competition.

Designed to test not only factual awareness but also logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and teamwork, the quiz proved to be a memorable learning experience for everyone involved. A large number of students participated, reflecting the growing popularity of quiz culture among young learners. The competition aimed to go beyond rote learning and encourage students to stay informed, think critically, and develop confidence in expressing their ideas.

The quiz was conducted in multiple phases, beginning with a written preliminary round. This round consisted of multiple-choice questions covering a wide range of subjects such as History, Geography, Science, Sports, Literature, Technology, Space, Environment, Art and Heritage, Culture, and Current Affairs. Students worked in teams, demonstrating collaboration and time management while answering within the stipulated duration. The preliminary round served as a strong foundation, ensuring that only the most knowledgeable and well-prepared teams advanced further.

Following the written test, selected teams moved on to the oral rounds, which brought a surge of excitement to the auditorium. These rounds included questions that tested quick thinking, strategic decision-making, and risk-taking abilities. The inclusion of an audience round added an interactive element, allowing spectators to engage actively and making the quiz an inclusive learning experience for all present.

The questions were thoughtfully curated to challenge students’ understanding of both national and global issues. Topics ranged from international sporting events and scientific innovations to social movements, global conferences, and current affairs, encouraging students to stay connected with the world around them. The quizmasters highlighted that such competitions play a crucial role in nurturing curiosity and motivating students to become lifelong learners.

Several education leaders and dignitaries appreciated the initiative, emphasising the importance of quiz competitions in today’s education system. They noted that quizzes help students develop awareness beyond textbooks, sharpen their thinking skills, and build confidence—qualities essential for academic and personal success. The organisers also highlighted that regular participation in such events enhances students’ communication abilities and teamwork.

The competition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winning teams were felicitated with trophies and certificates for their outstanding performance. The winners received loud applause from the audience, celebrating not just their victory but also their dedication and intellectual effort. The event ended on an inspiring note, leaving participants motivated to continue their pursuit of knowledge.

Overall, “Quest for Knowledge” stood as a shining example of how academic competitions can transform learning into an engaging, joyful, and enriching experience.
