Students of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, recently visited the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) to gain first-hand exposure to the fascinating world of forensic science and modern investigative technologies. The educational visit provided students with an opportunity to understand how science and technology contribute to criminal investigation and justice delivery.
During the visit, the students explored several advanced laboratories at the institute, including the DNA lab, toxicology lab, and artificial intelligence lab. Experts at the institute explained how even the smallest piece of evidence can help investigators uncover crucial clues and solve complex criminal cases. The students were introduced to various forensic techniques and scientific methods used in crime analysis and evidence examination.

The institute’s officials and faculty warmly welcomed the visiting group and provided an informative orientation about the role of forensic science in strengthening the justice system. They highlighted how modern technology and scientific investigation have become essential tools in crime detection and legal proceedings.
Speaking to the students, Dr. G. K. Goswami, Founder Director of UPSIFS, emphasised the growing importance of technology in today’s world. He noted that individuals who remain distant from technological advancements may find it difficult to keep pace with modern developments. He encouraged students to remain curious, embrace scientific learning, and stay updated with emerging technologies.
The students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity as they asked several questions related to forensic investigations, scientific instruments, and the role of technology in solving crimes. The interactive session helped them better understand the practical applications of science in real-life situations.
During the visit, the students also presented a token of appreciation to the institute’s officials as a gesture of gratitude for the enriching learning experience. Teachers accompanying the group expressed their appreciation for the institute’s efforts in providing students with meaningful exposure to advanced scientific practices.
The visit proved to be a highly informative and inspiring experience for the students. It not only broadened their understanding of forensic science and investigative techniques but also motivated them to explore career opportunities in scientific research, technology, and law enforcement.
Through such educational initiatives, GD Goenka Public School continues to provide students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and develop a deeper understanding of real-world applications of science and technology.
