Students to Discuss Topics of Global Submit on Friday, Seth MR Jaipuria School, Lucknow, convened the United Nations three day seventh annual Jaipuria Model Conference.
Model United Nations (MUN) is an extracurricular activity in which students typically delegate role-play to the United Nations and simulate UN committees.
“Committees here have solutions for the world to move forward. Being in climate summit, I feel that saving the climate is a joint effort,” said Jeevika Lalvani, a participant from GD Goenka Public School Lucknow.
There are 9 committees in this edition of JMUN that would take part in discussions covering various significant current topics and the delegates are expecting to pass concrete bills on the third day.
The nine committees, each as intense and diverse as the other, commenced their proceedings with an orientation by their respective parliamentary committees.
JMUN showcased some conventional committees like the Lok Sabha, United Nations General Assembly, United Nations Security Council, United Nations Human Rights Council, etc.
The conference discussed the agenda of certain specialized committees too such as the HaMitbahon – Israeli Response Council, United Nations Climate Summit, United Nations Summit on Economic Collaboration, 2022.
