The occasion of Baisakhi & Easter:-
Festivities Galore at GD Goenka Public School Lucknow on the Occasion of Baisakhi & Easter. Festivals in general, add colour and joy to our life. They break the monotony of everyday routine. Some festivals are related to religion while others are related to the seasons. Baishakhi and Easter are among such festivals, one is related to religion and one is related to nature.
To mark these special days, GD Goenka Public School Lucknow organized activities for children on 13 April 2022. Grade Pre nursery to Grade 1 children made Easter egg crafts and they were also shown a video. Teachers explained to children the importance of Easter celebration and the supernatural resurrection from the death of Jesus, which Easter celebrates, is one of the chief tenets of the Christian faith. Grade 2 children did crossword puzzles related to Easter and also watched a video on why we celebrate this festival.
Since this day coincided with Baisakhi, the teachers explained the importance of the festival to the children that Sikhs celebrate Baisakhi as a Harvest Festival. All the children from Grade pre-nursery to Grade 2 danced to Punjabi folk songs. Pre nursery children were dressed up in Punjabi attire which was a delight to watch. Children enjoyed both the activities with great zeal and learned the significance of both festivals.
