GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence and scientific temperament by hosting the Vigyan Manthan State-Level Camp, a prestigious initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing young scientific talent. Organised by Vigyan Bharati, Awadh Prant, the camp was held on 11 January 2026 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from selected students across various districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Vigyan Manthan is a nationally recognised programme designed to promote scientific aptitude, analytical thinking, and innovation among school students. The state-level camp serves as an important milestone in the multi-tier selection process, providing students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of science while interacting with eminent scientists, researchers, and education leaders.
The camp brought together academically talented students from Classes 6 to 11, who were shortlisted through a rigorous evaluation process. Throughout the programme, participants were assessed on their scientific understanding, logical reasoning, analytical skills, and innovative thinking abilities. The structured activities encouraged inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and collaborative discussions, creating an intellectually stimulating environment.
One of the key objectives of the camp was to inspire students to view science not merely as a subject but as a powerful tool for national development and societal progress. Through expert-led sessions and interactive engagements, students were introduced to the relevance of science in addressing real-world challenges while connecting modern scientific advancements with India’s rich knowledge traditions.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests and dignitaries. Shri Pawan Singh Chauhan, Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, attended the valedictory session as the Chief Guest and encouraged students to pursue science with curiosity, dedication, and ethical responsibility. Dr Ajit Shashni, Director at CSIR–National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, also addressed the students, sharing valuable insights into scientific research and innovation pathways.
Mr Sarvesh Goel, Chairman of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, participated as a special guest and highlighted the institution’s vision of fostering critical thinking, creativity, and research-oriented learning among students. The camp concluded with the felicitation and awarding of selected students, recognising their exceptional performance and scientific aptitude.
Selected participants will now progress to the next advanced stage of Vigyan Manthan, where they will gain exposure to reputed national research institutions such as CSIR, ISRO, and DRDO, further strengthening their scientific outlook and research capabilities.
