Guinness World Record broke Goenkan:

GD Goenka students successfully broke the Guinness World Record of the ‘Most people conducting a DNA isolation‘ of banana. As many as 550 students of Class VIII to Class XII, broke the earlier record of 302 US students conducting the experiment. The total time taken by the students was one hour, one minute.

On Saturday, 550 students of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow had also created a Guinness World Record for simultaneously conducting DNA isolation experiment of banana.

“It takes only six minutes for the human brain to expire due to lack of oxygen. First aid helps ensure that the right methods of administering medical assistance are provided,” informed Shweta Singh. After this training session, these students will always be ready to come forward and extend help in rushing the injured to hospital in the right manner, she added.

Dr. Renu Swarup, secretary, department of biotechnology, Government of India, visited the venue to wish luck to the participants just minutes before they began the record-setting experiment. She said it would be a proud moment for Lucknow to set a record in the field of science.

“Students showed a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity while performing this activity and gained hands-on knowledge. This activity was aimed at giving a meaningful learning experience to students and will improve their subject-related knowledge. The students were enthusiastic to participate in this world record making attempt,” she said.
