A Trip to The Enchanted Forest:
Students win the hearts of all with their captivating performance at GD Goenka School’s Annual Function.
On Friday, 15 December 2023, the 2-day annual function ‘La Joie De Vivre’ of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow began with a stellar show put up by the young Goenkans. The theme for the first day’s programme was ‘The Enchanted Forest.’ The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur. Students from pre-primary to class 5 showcased the importance of nature and unbreakable connections in human life through various programmes.
Mr JPS Rathore, Minister of State, Cooperative Department, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh was invited as the Chief Guest for the event. The principal of the school, Dr Prerna Mitra, welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the achievements of the school. After the lighting of the lamp, the programme commenced with a dance depicting the fierce form of Mother Durga, ‘Raktabeej Sanghar’.
The Chairman of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow, Mr. Sarvesh Goel expressed his gratitude to the students, parents, and staff on this occasion. Addressing the parents and guests, he shared the plans of the school and emphasized that GD Goenka School can fulfil all educational needs with its excellent infrastructure and top-notch facilities. He encouraged the students to actively participate in every school activity, as it is their duty, and it provides valuable learning experiences too.
On this occasion, many other dignitaries including Lucknow District Magistrate Mr Surya Pal Gangwar, and Principals and Chairman of many reputed schools were also present as special guests.
The first presentation of the event was by the little ones of the school, who conveyed a message of friendship, unity, and trust through their dance. Dressed in colourful attire, the children captivated everyone with their enchanting performances one after another. Students presented a variety of programmes, including dance, songs, and music, showcasing the cultural richness. The depiction of nature through dance, drama, and music left the audience mesmerized, and the rhythmic applause enhanced the enthusiasm of the students.
The chief guest appreciated the achievements of the school, attributing them to the combined efforts of teachers, students, and parents. Impressed by the talent of the students and the commitment of Mr. Goel towards education, he praised the school’s progress and gave his best wishes for its bright future.
The program concluded with the grand finale and the Goenkan song, displaying the dignity and unity of the school, along with the National Anthem.
