‘PLANT A TREE – GIVE NEW LEASE TO LIFE’
On 6th July 2023, GD Goenka Public School Lucknow organized a plantation drive at Goel World, Sushant Golf City, under the leadership of School Chairman Shri Sarvesh Goel. Students from Classes 6 to 8, accompanied by their teachers, participated in the drive. The District Forest Officer (DFO), Mr. Ravi Kumar Singh, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Each student enjoyed the opportunity to plant a sapling, symbolizing their commitment to environmental sustainability.
The event aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote practical learning. Students learned about proper planting techniques and their role in nurturing saplings and environment conservation. This plantation drive fostered a sense of responsibility amongst the students and encouraged them to actively contribute to a greener future.
Currently, a student of class XII, Saundarya D Nair made the best CBSE school & her teachers proud by achieving the 6th rank at the international level in the International Hindi Olympiad 2022-23 organised by Hindi Utkarsh Mandal, Delhi. This was the second round of the Olympiad.
Saundarya scored the highest mark 80.25 at the school/college level and qualified for the second and final round where students from across the country participated. She received the Gold Medal in the first round of the Olympiad.
Saundarya is bestowed with a trophy and Hindi Gyandeep Commendation Letter for securing 6th rank at the International Level.
Truly an achievement of high order and may she continues to excel like this in every pursuit of her life!
GD GOENKA SCHOOL STUDENTS MAKE SOCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS THROUGH THE ‘FLAMES OF JUSTICE’ CLUB & ‘INAYAT’ NGO.
Sanitary Napkin Donation Drive at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. GD Goenka is known for ensuring the development of multifaceted students’ skills which leads to their holistic development. The students of the school have time and again done their bit in uplifting the social and economic standard of the society, rendering help to especially those who are not aware or have no access to the basic facilities required for sustenance.
This time again, the student members of the ‘Flames of Justice’ Club of school along with NGO ‘Inayat’ organized an awareness and donation campaign on 11 April 2022, where the students donated sanitary napkins to more than 200 young girls and women of Radhikapur village of Gosainganj area. Apart from donating the napkins, the students also explained the significance of maintaining hygiene and how to take care of their health during this period. The girls and women were made aware that how by using the sanitary pads, they can stay safe from many life-threatening diseases. They were also told the correct way to dispose of the sanitary napkins.
The recipients were very happy on receiving this essential and also for the information provided. The School Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra, along with Mrs. Lalita Goel, wife of School Chairman Shri Sarvesh Goel, and School teacher Mrs. Vibha Poonja also joined the students in this donation drive.
The excitement and the happiness of the students knew no bounds after this endeavour.

Education is not only gaining knowledge but also the overall development of the child. GD Goenka Public

Keeping this in mind, GD Goenka Public School organized a visit to ‘Jyoti Kiran ‘, a home for the destitute and special children on 19th November 2018. The organisation is run and managed by Spark India. It was founded by Dr. Amit Mehrotra in 2003. The primary function of the organization is to impart education to special as well as normal children according to their abilities through the medium of inclusive education.
“The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.” -Jawaharlal Nehru citing this example, Dr. Mehrotra, the founder of the organization conversed with the Goenkan students of Grades VI to VII. He also heard the students’ views about special children and their suggestions for their rehabilitation. The students of GD Goenka spent quality time with the children of ‘Jyoti Kiran’ home. They spoke to them regarding their daily routine and also engaged with them in several activities. The students also boosted their confidence by appreciating the beautiful handicrafts made by them.
As a token of love, the students distributed chocolate gift packs among the children of ‘Jyoti Kiran’ on the
occasion of Children’s Day. It was gratifying to see their smiling and happy faces. The students of GD Goenka went back with happy memories and the satisfaction of giving back to the community.
GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow has been an active partner and sponsor in the Heritage Walk organized in Lucknow to create awareness in the public about the rich heritage of the city. A free homeopathy clinic-cum-dispensary is fully functional in the campus to cater to the medical needs of the needy. In addition to this, free medical camps are also organized which include distribution of medicines free of cost. As a conscious effort towards social development, G.D. Goenka Public School, Lucknow has taken the initiative and the responsibility to improve the academic and infrastructural standard of a government primary school at Ghusval Kala. The school is assisting it by providing furniture, classes taken by our teachers, books and teaching aids on a regular basis.
Every goenkaGoenkan is taught to take pride in our heritage and are made to realize that they are the ones who have to do their bit to conserve resources. Awareness programs are planned as a regular part of the curriculum to help them grow up to be responsible citizens. Through participation in Earth Day, Street plays, Cleanliness Drive, Plantation Drive, Nature Walk and many such activities students are able to imbibe the importance of having a strong commitment towards maintaining the environment. The students regularly participate in inheritance walks, marathons, cleanliness drives, to support the cause and create awareness. Visits to orphanages and old age homes are included in the school program. This has enabled the school to venture into the wider arena of community service programs and involve the students in the same.
