The Alumni Meet at GD Goenka was a heartwarming celebration that brought together former students, teachers, and current students for an evening filled with nostalgia, laughter, and connection on 26 July. The event was held in the school auditorium, beautifully decorated for the occasion.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by the Head Girl, Nainshree, who expressed her joy in seeing so many alumni return to their alma mater. Her speech reflected the school’s pride in its former students and set a heartfelt tone for the evening.
This was followed by a vibrant band performance by current students, which electrified the atmosphere and brought a wave of enthusiasm and cheer. The band played a mix of classic and contemporary songs, receiving applause and cheers from the audience.
To encourage interaction and ease the formality, the hosts conducted a fun “Breaking the Ice” session, where alumni and students engaged in light-hearted questions and games, sharing anecdotes and memories from their school days. The interactive session helped revive old connections and forge new ones.
A beautifully curated video presentation showcased the evolution of the school over the years. From its humble beginnings to becoming one of the most reputed institutions, the video was a trip down memory lane, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and transformations.
Next came a delightful game titled “Guess the Teacher,” where altered childhood pictures of teachers were displayed on screen, and participants had to guess their identities. This sparked much laughter and amusing stories, making it a favorite part of the evening.
A surprise flash mob dance performance by the students added a vibrant twist to the evening, with energetic moves and synchronized routines that lit up the stage and thrilled the audience.
The alumni were then honored with “Tokens of Love” – personalized mementos that symbolized the school’s gratitude and affection. These tokens served as souvenirs for their enduring connection with GD Goenka.
The highlight of the evening was the address by the Principal, Dr. Prerna, who spoke with deep emotion and pride about the alumni’s achievements and how they continue to carry the school’s legacy forward. Her words were inspiring and reminded everyone of the values the institution upholds.
The event drew to a close with a heartfelt closing address by the Head Boy, Neil Kalra, who thanked the alumni for their presence and reminded everyone that once a Goenkan, always a Goenkan.
The evening concluded on a delicious note with evening snacks served in the school courtyard, where alumni mingled with teachers and students, sharing memories and exchanging contact details.
