‘ASPIRE TO INSPIRE’ – VIVID SHADES OF LIFE DISPLAYED AT THE ANNUAL FUNCTION OF GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW
ENCHANTING PERFORMANCES OF STUDENTS LEAVE THE AUDIENCE SPELLBOUND

GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, organized its Annual Day function ‘La Joie De Vivre’: To express cheerful enjoyment of life’ on 15 & 16 December 2023. The theme for the second day of the Annual Concert was ‘Aspire to Inspire’ to appreciate the gift of life which the Lord has bestowed upon human beings.

The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Asim Arun ji, Hon’ble Minister of State Social Welfare, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. The concert began with the welcome of the Chief Guest and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the luminaries and invoking blessings of the Almighty sanctified the commencement of the show followed by an address by the esteemed chairman of GD Goenka School Lucknow, Mr Sarvesh Goel, who is the guiding spirit and force of the school. In his speech, Mr Sarvesh Goel expressed his gratitude to the students, parents, and staff on this occasion. Addressing the parents and guests, he shared the plans of the school and emphasized that GD Goenka School can fulfil all educational needs with its excellent infrastructure and top-notch facilities. He encouraged the students to actively participate in every school activity, as it is their duty, and it provides valuable learning experiences too.

The year 2023 was very eventful at GD Goenka School, filled with achievements in various spheres of life. To give everyone a glimpse of the amazing year the school had, the Principal Dr Prerna Mitra, presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the school. She also thanked the school staff for their incessant support throughout the academic session.

Mr Jitendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of General Administration, Uttar Pradesh, graced the event as the Guest of Honour, while Ms Ministhy S, Special Secretary of Home, Uttar Pradesh, Mr Anurag Yadav, Principal Secretary of Urban Development, Uttar Pradesh, Dr Sanghmitra Maurya, MP, and Principals of many renowned schools of Lucknow, attended the function as special guests.

Amidst great alacrity, vibrancy and elation, the curtains were then raised with the Welcome Dance based on unity and diversity. A mesmerizing dance with Mosaic cultures, performance on Tandav and Lasya dance forms symbolising the dualities of life and the theme ASPIRE TO INSPIRE was showcased.
The dance drama ‘UDAAN’ was very beautifully staged by the students. India has always been a land of diverse talents and accomplishments, in any field be it in the world of science and technology, sports, arts, movies, and music our country has been making ground-breaking contributions. The students very aesthetically and beautifully presented it in the form of dance drama.

SHAURYA KO NAMAN- a Hindi act, was a rollercoaster of emotions revealing how tough it is to get into the army and stay away from loved ones followed by YUDH an enthralling Kathak dance showcasing profound teachings of the Bhagwad Gita- guiding us through the struggles we all face in this fast-paced modern life. The Hindi dance drama (SHAKTI) was an act that delved into the role of women in our society. It mesmerized the audience as the play showcased the Vedic times to the contemporary time women in our society and their struggles to realise their dreams. The audience highly appreciated and applauded the performance and theme of the concert which touched the hearts of all.

The other highlight of the event was the felicitation of the meritorious students for their exemplary results in the board examinations. Outstanding achievers in Dance, Music, Olympiads, and Sports were also awarded. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour presented the awards to all the glorious achievers.

On this occasion, Saundarya D Nair, a class XII student was awarded the coveted ‘Chairman Award’ for her remarkable all-round achievements in different fields.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest in his address, expressed his pleasure in seeing the infrastructure of the school. He also hailed the hard work of the teachers and students for putting up such a spectacular show. He praised the dedication and commitment of the school Chairman Shri Sarvesh Goel for providing world-class education to the students. In his inspiring words, he urged the students to always strive for excellence and never stop trying. They should never lose sight of their goal and the world will be at their feet! He congratulated the students for their extraordinary achievements in different fields.

The Fashion Show ‘MODERN VINTAGE’ where Style meets Sustainability, the Show dawned with charm and elatedness with the enthusiastic participation of the Parents of GD Goenka in the Fashion Show while they walked the ramp way isle in style and elegance making the event a memorable achievement in the history of GD Goenka Public School’s Annual Concert.

The audience enjoyed the beautiful depiction of ‘ASPIRE TO INSPIRE’ by the Goenkans, whose endeavour was to express a cheerful enjoyment of spirit and happiness while we should take some time out and enjoy the little joys of life. The Song ‘If You Believe’ carries a message of resilience and the power of belief which can lead to extraordinary accomplishments, was followed by the Grand Finale which was thrilling.

The Mega Event came to a close with the vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
