GO NATURAL – GD Goenka Students Learn The Art Of Vegetable Dyeing:-

‘Nature always Wears the Colours of the Spirit’

The art of making vegetable dyes is one of the oldest known to humanity and dates back to the dawn of civilization. India’s expertise in vegetable dyes dates back to ancient times. To raise awareness of natural colors among the students of GD Goenka Public School, an activity based on natural dyeing colors was conducted on October 27, 2023.

Teachers of Toddlers and Pre-Nursery demonstrated and explained the process of vegetable dyeing using carrots and bottle gourd. Nursery to Grade II teachers demonstrated and explained the vegetable dyeing process using beetroot and spinach. Students in the Pre-primary classes enjoyed and understood that they could create different colors by blending various vegetables. In the end, students learned that vegetable dyes are sustainable as they are renewable and biodegradable.

At the conclusion of the activity, each child explained their learning outcomes to their teachers. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and participated wholeheartedly, making it a grand success.
