Basant Panchami Celebration:
The students of GD Goenka Public School celebrated Basant Panchami, a Hindu festival, which marks the end of the winter season and the onset of the spring season in North India. The celebration was led by principal Raveen Pande and commenced with the Saraswati Vandana. The customary prayers and traditions were offered with sobriety and joy, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati for seeking knowledge and prosperous life. This was followed by a dance performed by class 2 students. On this auspicious occasion, all the teachers were dressed in diverse shades of yellow and everyone offered floral prayers to the goddess. Children wished ‘Happy Basant’ to each other, recited poems on spring and learned about the importance of the day. They also learned about the importance of showing respect to the books as they are repositories of wisdom and knowledge. Meanwhile, Basant Panchami was also celebrated at SKD Academy, ISC Board Branch, near Jal Sansthan by performing havan and puja. Students, teachers, and staff of all branches participated with devotion. Members of Gayatri Pariwar arranged all the programmes.
