Better Option for NCC Career:-
According to Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of 20 UP Girls BNNCC, NCC can be a better career option for girl students. He was addressing an inspirational session at GD Goenka School. After NCC, preference is given to ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate holders in the Defense Services, Police, Para-Military Forces, BSF, Territorial Army, and all similar services.
20th Girls Battalion of NCC organized a lecture on the importance and benefits of NCC:-
Under the aegis of 20 UP Girls Battalion NCC Lucknow, a lecture on the importance and benefits of NCC was organized on 07 July 2023 at GD Goenka Public School in the city. On this occasion, Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of 20 UP Girls Battalion NCC was present as the chief guest and speaker. During this, the Chairman of the school Mr. Sarvesh Goel, Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra, and other teachers were also present.
In his lecture, Colonel Vinod Joshi told that NCC is the world’s largest youth voluntary organization in which 1600000 active cadets are taking military training and contributing to various services. He explained in detail the types of commission, preparation, and career related to the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. He told that NCC was established on 16 July 1948 and in the year 1949, the Girls Wing was included in NCC. He also gave detailed information about 17 types of camps to be held in NCC.
Col. Joshi further said that NCC cadets from other countries come to India under the Youth Exchange Program and get acquainted with the unity, discipline, culture, and harmony here. He said that the Indian Army handles the responsibility of about 7000 kilometers of land border areas. Similarly, the Indian Navy protects about 7000 km of coastal areas while the Indian Air Force helps both wings.
During this, Colonel Joshi answered various questions related to NCC asked by the students of the school.
250 girl students participated in the program and asked various types of questions on NCC Elective subjects. In this two-hour program, along with the girl students, the school staff also took an interest in the information about the army and the commission.
Principal of the school Dr. Prerna Mitra expressed gratitude to Commanding Officer Col. Joshi for organizing the lecture and was honored by presenting a memento on behalf of the school. Finally, the program ended with an NCC group song and chanting of Mother India.
