GD Goenka Public School Lucknow recently organized a three-day Book Fair from 06 – 08 August 2025, in the school premises. The event was a huge success, attracting a large number of students and parents.
A vast variety of books were on display, including fiction, non-fiction, activity books, encyclopedias, biographies, and competitive books. The students enthusiastically visited the book stalls and purchased books of their choice, ranging from science to mysteries, puzzles to poems, and fiction to facts.
The Scholastic Fair was inaugurated by the School Principal Dr Prerna Mitra, emphasizing the importance of reading and holistic literature in enriching vocabulary and diction.
The Fiction section was the most visited corner, followed by Reference Books and Encyclopedias. Students participated in various activities, such as Book Hunt, Quiz, and recognizing famous fictional characters.
A lucky draw was also organized which was won by Nitika Rai of class IV – D.
The Classroom Challenge was won by class IV Cambridge Section, where students bought the maximum number of books, and received a gift hamper of books as prize.
The Book Fair helped develop a love for reading among students and provided an opportunity for them to explore different genres of books. The event was well-organized, and the school’s effort to promote reading habits among students was commendable.
