Anything can be achieved with proper planning and sheer hard work. With CBSE releasing its date sheet for board examinations 2018, our Principal Mrs. Raveen Pande shares her take on how to make a dedicated study plan.
The CBSE has published the date sheet for Class X and XII Examination 2018. I am sure you must have gone through the date sheet as we have posted it on the portal. With about seven weeks to go for your Board exam, your must be gearing up for intense preparation and self-study now, to add to your efforts throughout the year.
You will soon be proceeding on preparatory leave. There is no magic formula to success, it’s hard work that leads to it. In addition to that, you need to have a sound plan for your time management and good strategy for your revision and doubt clarification. Watch out against time wasters such as long phone conversations, frequent texting, prolonged hours of TV viewing or ‘net surfing; remember that planning and goal setting help you manage your time better. Start with areas you are comfortable with, ensure that you have prepared those thoroughly; this will give you the confidence to venture into more challenging areas. Make a note of your doubts so you can clarify those with your teachers.
Studying long hours can be stressful. Do take care of your diet, health and physical fitness. Take short breaks during your study sessions. Studying late into the night is not a practical idea as your alertness and concentration will not be at the optimum level the next morning. Remember, your examination will be held in the morning; so your body clock should be set in a way to help you be your most efficient self in the morning! Do time yourself while you are solving sample papers on your own; this will help you understand how you have to manage your time better in the exam hall. Presentation of answers is very important; your subject knowledge and your year-long hard work will be reflected in the three-hour examination you will be taking for each subject. Be clear and crisp while writing your answers; ambiguous answers or exceeding word limit can lead to loss of marks. Please incorporate the guidelines you have been given through the year and follow these during your revision sessions also. We will be highlighting this aspect in detail while discussing your Pre-board answer sheets with you shortly.
We wish you all the best! I am confident that you will all do extremely well and help maintain the tradition of excellence which has become synonymous with G.D. Goenka Public School, Lucknow!
