JOY AND FESTIVITIES OF JANMASHTAMI AT GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW:
Janmashtami is a grand festival celebrated all over India to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, who is believed to be the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
GD Goenka Public School Lucknow celebrated Janmashtami on August 24, 2024 with enormous zeal, religious fervour and enthusiasm. The students were elated with the festive atmosphere. Janmashtami, the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birthday went hand in hand with music and dance. The tiny tots from Toddlers to UKG came dressed up in the beautiful attire of Radha-Krishna.
The spirit of Janmashtami, the joyous celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth, came alive as students of Toddler to Grade 2 and teachers gathered in traditional attire to worship Lord Krishna and pay him obeisance. The in-door plaza was adorned with vibrant decorations, depicting the life and antics of Lord Krishna. To their delight, the students danced to the tune of popular Krishna bhajans. The rhythmic movements and colourful costumes left everyone spellbound. Children also made beautiful craft items like Krishna crowns, flutes, peacocks and matki with multi-coloured stones, mirrors and glitters and showed their gratitude towards Lord Krishna.
The traditional ambience of the occasion reflected the bewitching Indian Culture. The main motive was not just to celebrate the festival but also to imbibe in students the morals and values of Lord Krishna. Children were enlightened about the teachings of Lord Krishna and were given the message to perform their duty with sincerity and devotion.
