GD Goenka Public School celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day with immense pride and patriotic fervour on August 15th, 2025. The event began with the flag hoisting ceremony by the esteemed Chief Guest, Brigadier Puneet Srivastava, receipient of Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), with the National Anthem echoing in the background. This was followed by an impressive March Past, with the house captains of all the four houses Tagore, Teresa, Radhakrishnan and Vivekananda, leading their contingents with discipline and pride.
The Chairman of the school Mr Sarvesh Goel warmly welcomed the Chief Guest by presenting a planter, symbolizing growth and respect. The Principal then delivered motivating words, urging students to cherish the nation’s freedom and strive for excellence.
The cultural segment featured stirring patriotic songs and dances, with special group performances, social drama, solo and duet dances, and vibrant flagship presentations. A special dance presentation based on empowerment of women enthralled the audience and filled the environment with the feeling of dignity and honour.
On this special occasion, Chief Guest Brig Puneet Srivastava addressed the gathering and his motivating words and stories of valour and dedication, inspired the students who look up to personalities like him for encouragement and direction in life.
The event concluded with the Chairman’s closing remarks, a heartfelt vote of thanks, and the distribution of sweets, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism and unity.
