Celebrating Basant Panchami:
Basant Panchami is a famous festival of India that marks the end of the winter season and ushers in the abloom springtime. The festival is celebrated on the 5th day of the spring season. On this day, Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and arts, Saraswati is worshipped.
GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow celebrated the festival of ‘Basant Panchmi’ with complete devotion. As the Goddess is an epitome of knowledge and wisdom, educational institutions celebrate this festival with great ardor highlighting the significance of the day. Young girls wear bright yellow dresses and participate in the festivities. The yellow color holds a special meaning in this celebration as it signifies the brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life. During this time of the year, crop fields of our country are filled with yellow color, as the mustard flowers Bloom across the fields. After the customary lighting of the lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati, the students of Grade I presented a dance wherein students of Grade II made beautiful kites and wrote few sentences about the festival at the back of the kite.
