On August 30, the Community Service Club of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, organized a meaningful stationery donation drive, engaging students from Classes VI to XII. The initiative aimed to support underprivileged children in the community by providing essential educational supplies, fostering a sense of compassion and responsibility among students.
Preparation for the drive began a month in advance, with students, teachers, parents, and local businesses coming together to contribute. The items collected included notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and other educational materials, all essential for a student’s academic journey. Students were encouraged to bring new or gently used stationery, which was then packed into individual kits. Each kit contained a variety of supplies needed for a student’s daily learning activities.
The stationery kits were distributed to local schools and orphanages identified by the Community Service Club. The drive was not only successful in terms of the number of items collected but also in fostering a sense of collective effort and social responsibility among students. This event highlighted the importance of giving back to the community and helping those in need.
GD Goenka Public School continues to emphasize the importance of holistic development by combining academic excellence with social service initiatives. The school plans to conduct similar drives more frequently, reaching out to more students in need and encouraging community engagement.
