Dandiya Dhoom in Full Swing:-
Dandiya Dhoom is in full swing at GD Goenka public school Lucknow. The auspicious season of festivals is beginning with the onset of Navratras and to mark the occasion in its own tradition, GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow organized a mega Dandiya Night on Saturday, 01 October 2022 in its Sushant Golf City premises.
Every year this Dandiya Night, which is one of the most popular events in the city, is organized at the school premises with great fervour, to mark the festivities of Navratri. The whole environment was abuzz with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Not only the Goenkans but people from all over the city actively participated in the event, decked up in vibrant ethnic attires which made for a spectacular visual treat for everyone to relish. The preparations for this thrilling evening had started almost a fortnight ago.
The evening welcomed dignitaries from different walks of life. Shri Dinesh Sharma (Former Deputy CM), Shri Surya Pal Gangwar (District Magistrate), Sushri Anupam Kulshreshtha (ADG Traffic), Sushri Aparna Yadav (Politician & Social Activist), Shri Awaneesh Singh (MLC), along with many senior bureaucrats, dignitaries and eminent personalities of the city graced the occasion as special guests for the event.
The event commenced from 06:30 PM onwards, with the pooja and aarti of Ambe Maa performed by these guests along with the Chairman of the school Shri Sarvesh Goel and Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra.
Lots of exciting prizes were won in Lucky Draw and various titles such as BEST DRESSED: Children-Girl /Boy, Youngsters-Girl Princess/Boy Prince, COUPLE, GP’S (Grand Parents), Best dressed family. BEST DANCING: Children- Girl/ Boy, Couple- Mr. & Mrs. Dandiya, Senior citizen, Group of at least 10 dancers and SPECIAL CATEGORY: Energetic dancer & Exclusive Garba dancer, were awarded to add to the fun.
Special Garba dancers’ troupe made the occasion much grander, merrier, and more entertaining!
Traditional Dandiya music along with some of the peppy latest Bollywood dandiya numbers kept the visitors glued to the floor all through the evening. There were various stalls ranging from eatables, clothes, and jewelry items to home décor, mehndi and tattoo, tarot card readers, and also fun rides which added more glitz to the event.
The energy exuberating out of the colorful attires, the delectable eatables, and the enthusiasm of dancing to the dandiya numbers created a perfect atmosphere of euphoria and gaiety.
The dandiya night saw a riot of colours and an eclectic mix of music which will make its roisterers remember the joyous celebrations for years to come.
