Dandiya Dhoom in Full Swing Amidst Navratri Festivities at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow:-
The auspicious season of festivals is beginning with the onset of Navratras and to mark the occasion in its own tradition, GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow organized a mega Dandiya Night 2023 on Friday, 20 October 2023 in its Sushant Golf City premises. This Dandiya Night was organsied at GD Goenka School in association with ‘The Centrum’.
Every year this Dandiya Night, which is one of the most popular events in the city, is organized at the school premises with great fervour, to mark the festivities of Navratri. The whole environment was abuzz with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Not only the Goenkans but people from all over the city actively participated in the event, decked up in vibrant ethnic attires which made for a spectacular visual treat for everyone to relish.
The evening welcomed dignitaries from different walks of life. Shri Mukesh Sharma (MLC), Shri Awanish Kumar Singh (MLC), Shri Surya Pal Gangwar (District Magistrate), Sushri Sushma Kharkwal (Mayor), Sushri Aparna Yadav (Politician & Social Activist), along with many senior bureaucrats, educationists and eminent personalities of the city graced the occasion as special guests for the event.
The event commenced from 06:30 pm onwards, with the pooja and aarti of Ambe Maa performed by the Chairman GD Goenka School Lucknow Shri Sarvesh Goel, and Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra.
Lots of exciting prizes were won in Lucky Draw and various titles such as BEST DRESSED: Children-Girl /Boy, Dandiya Prince/Princess, Best Dressed Couple, Best Dressed Grandparents, Best Dressed Family. Best Dancing Couple, Best Dancing Group, Mr & Mrs Dandiya, Best Dancer Senior Citizen, Most Energetic Dancer, etc. were awarded to add to the fun. The gifts and prizes were given by Shri Sarvesh Goel, Chairman GD Goenka Lucknow & Mansingh Goel Group.
Special garba dancers’ troupe made the occasion much grander, merrier, and entertaining!
Traditional Dandiya music along with some peppy latest Bollywood dandiya numbers kept the visitors glued to the floor all through the evening. There were various stalls ranging from eatables, clothes, jewellery items to home décor, mehndi and tattoo, tarot card readers, and also fun rides which added more glitz to the event. The very successful event saw the presence of more than 4,000 people.
The dandiya night saw a riot of colours and an eclectic mix of music which will make its roisterers remember the joyous celebrations for years to come.
