DOUBLE CELEBRATION FOR ‘EARTH DAY’ AND ‘EID’ AT GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW
Earth Day promotes International Awareness of environmental protection and earth conservation. It’s the perfect opportunity to teach our children about important concepts, such as going green while using 3R, reducing, reusing, and recycling. Eid is the main festival in India. Festivals are a great way to encourage and educate children about various cultures and languages.
Our best CBSE school little Goenkans celebrated ‘Earth Day’ and ‘Eid’ on Thursday, 20 April 2023 with great creativity and enthusiasm. The Teachers highlighted the points that how to save our earth and taught about sharing, caring, and the importance of the festival of Eid. The significance of the festival was explained to the students through Eid songs and stories.
Students of toddler and Pre- nursery made the model of Earth by upcycling an old CD and pasting green and blue play dough on it and brought sewai for sharing with the ancillary staff. Nursery students made self-watering plants and learned about personal hygiene rules and healthy eating habits on the occasion of Eid. KG children did the plantation activity and learned about cleanliness. They promised to take care of plants and clean their surroundings. Grade I children made eco-bricks to make our environment healthy and maze activity for Eid. Grade II children did a number activity on Earth pictures and did a word-search activity related to the festival.
Children celebrated Eid with great passion and learned about the importance of our planet – Earth. They learned about water and electricity conservation. Children went for a nature walk and understood how the earth is important to everyone. Then they all said – Save Earth, Save Lives.
