5th Edition of ‘Federal Bank Lucknow Run’ Held on 05 November 2023:-
THOUSANDS OF PARTICIPANTS RAN FOR FITNESS IN THE RUN ORGANISED BY ‘THE CENTRUM’
The most awaited and renowned event of Lucknow city, ‘Federal Bank Lucknow Run’ was organized on Sunday 05 November 2023, at GD Goenka Public School located in Sushant Golf City, Lucknow. The organizer of this run is ‘The Centrum’ Lucknow. ‘Federal Bank Lucknow Run’ is an annual event and is recognized by the ‘World Athletics Association’. Through this event, we want to spread the message of good health and a prosperous lifestyle among the people. One of the main objectives of this half marathon is to promote the culture of sports in the country.
The ‘Federal Bank Lucknow Run’ was organized in four categories; 21 km, 10 km, 05 km, and 03 km, where 21 km half marathon started at 05:30 am, the 10 km run at 06:00 am, and the 05 km and 03 km fun runs at 07:00 am. 21km Run was flagged off by Gen Mukesh Chadha, Chief of Staff, Central Command, 10 km Run by Ms. Ritu Suhas IAS, Shri Qasim Abidi IPS, & CBSE Sahodaya Team and 3 & 5 km Runs were flagged off by Shri Durga Shankar Mishra IAS & Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh.
Eminent personalities of the city and dignitaries like, Shri Anil Kumar Additional Chief Secretary, Shri Anurag Yadav IAS, Mr Anil Kumar Principal Secretary, Dr Balu Kenchappa Regional Director Reserve Bank of India, Lucknow, Ironman Kishlay Rai, Principals and Educationists of renowned schools of Lucknow were present on the occasion and flagged off the different runs. The event was also marked by the presence of Principals and Educationists of renowned schools of Lucknow, All were present to encourage the runners.
The main organiser and the man behind ‘Lucknow Run’, Mr. Sarvesh Goel, expressed his gratitude to everyone for this humungous participation and said that seeing the excitement of people for ‘Lucknow Run’, very soon it will be the biggest run of India and will make its mark at the international level too.
Around three thousand people including more than 800 students from Lucknow and many other schools of Uttar Pradesh also participated in this run. The half marathon also saw participation from the Indian Army, Corporates, and many running groups and organizations. All the winners were presented the trophies by Mr Sarvesh Goel, Managing Partner ‘The Centrum’ Lucknow, & Chairman GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. Also, all the participants were given medals and certificates.
Here we would also like to highlight one more important fact about the ‘Federal Bank Lucknow Run’, the route plan of this half marathon is IAAF AIMS certified and was made very carefully, keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the participants. The entire run was organised in the lush green surroundings of Sushant Golf City. It was a different experience to run among the greenery spread all around, in the mild cold of November morning.
