Flower arrangement Competition:
Recently Flower arrangement Competition held At Gd Goenka Public School, Lucknow, Inner house activity, Ikebana. There where 4 teams in each class, from classes 3, 4 and 5, each representing their houses. The motive this competition was to introduce varieties of flowers to the students. Children were excited to display the arrangement of flowers. They were even ready to highlight their arrangement with beautiful quotes. The little place was filled with buckets of flowers and greenery. All of them seemed to be completely prepared. They were splendid with their arrangement. The participants show their confidence and talent and enjoyed throughout.
Ikebana is the art of arranging flowers. Ikebana emphasizes most on measurement, the scale of decoration. The main aim of Ikebana is to bring nature indoors.
Ikebana was divided into three styles.
- The Shin – The formal style involved an erect linear arrangement in a bronze container, arranged on a carved teakwood stand.
- The Gyo– The school features flowing, sweeping lines and the use of a variety of containers.
- The So – The school displayed flowers in bamboo vases, baskets, and natural wood containers as well as in pottery. The flowers are seated on the bases of bamboo or natural wood.
