GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, participated in the launch of the ‘Ek Pahal’ campaign, organized by the Emergency Response Service UP-112 on August 12, 2024. The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the effective utilization of emergency services and ensure timely assistance during emergencies.
The campaign was inaugurated by DGP Prashant Kumar, who emphasized the importance of educating the public on the critical aspects of UP-112 services. Students from GD Goenka attended the session, accompanied by their School Principal, Dr. Prerna Mitra. The event provided students with valuable insights into community policing, emergency responses, and the active involvement of citizens in ensuring public safety.
During the session, senior officers highlighted that despite the availability of comprehensive services through UP-112, many people remain unaware of how to utilize these services. This gap in knowledge often leads to missed opportunities for timely assistance in emergencies. The ‘Ek Pahal’ initiative seeks to bridge this gap by educating citizens about the correct protocols for reporting accidents, emergencies, and suspicious activities.
The students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of prompt action in emergencies, such as informing the police and ensuring timely medical attention for victims. The campaign also stressed the significance of reporting suspicious individuals or vehicles with photographic evidence to help prevent potential crimes.
GD Goenka Public School’s participation in the campaign reflects the school’s commitment to fostering responsible and socially aware citizens, preparing them for real-world situations.
