On October 23, Cambridge students from GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, took to the streets of Ansal for a climate march, demonstrating their commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 – Climate Action. The initiative highlighted the urgent need for environmental conservation and the power of collective responsibility in combating climate change.
The students, from Classes VI to VIII, carried banners and chanted impactful slogans such as, “Save our planet, make a vow!” and “No more warnings, no more lies!” Engaging with the local community, they spread awareness about the global climate crisis and shared actionable steps individuals can take to safeguard the environment.
This march, a part of the students’ Global Perspectives project, was not just a powerful advocacy campaign but also an enriching educational experience. It allowed students to deepen their understanding of climate change and empowered them to take action. Faculty members and the school principal lauded the students’ efforts, describing them as torchbearers of change.
