PATRIOTIC FERVOUR IN FULL SWING AS GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW CELEBRATES 78th INDEPENDENCE DAY IN TRUE SPIRIT:
The 78th Independence Day celebrations at GD Goenka were marked by a series of patriotic events and performances that filled everyone with pride and enthusiasm. The event began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Major General Parag A Deshmukh, Commandant and Chief Instructor Officer Training College & AMC Centre and College, Lucknow, who was warmly welcomed by the Principal, staff and students.
The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony. The Chief Guest unfurled the national flag, and everybody sang the national anthem. The fluttering tricolour in the clear sky evoked a deep sense of patriotism among all present. Following the flag hoisting, a disciplined March Past was conducted by the school’s cadets and students. The synchronized steps, the crisp uniforms, and the salute to the national flag highlighted the dedication and discipline of the students. The Chief Guest took the salute, acknowledging the efforts of the participants.
The March Past was followed by a “Melody of Independence,” where the school choir presented a medley of patriotic songs. The Principal, Dr Prerna Mitra , then took the stage to deliver the welcome address. The Principal extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the School Chairman Mr Sarvesh Goel, dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students. In the speech, the Principal emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and encouraged the students to contribute positively to the nation.
A powerful Nukkad Natak was then performed by the students, depicting the struggles faced by the Indian freedom fighters and the importance of unity in diversity. The play was both educational and entertaining, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. The Cultural Captain and Sports Captain of the school also rendered a speech on this day. The event continued with a vibrant Celebration Dance, performed by the students, symbolizing the unity in diversity of our country.
The Chief Guest Major General Parag A Deshmukh then addressed the gathering. In a thought-provoking speech he praised the performances and the efforts of the students and staff in organizing the event. The Chief Guest also spoke about the significance of Independence Day and urged the students to always uphold the values of freedom, equality, and justice. The Chairman, Mr Sarvesh Goel, responded to the Chief Guest’s address by expressing gratitude and sharing a few words of wisdom with the students. The Chairman highlighted the importance of education in nation-building and encouraged the students to work hard to achieve their goals.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Varnika Pandey who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, the dignitaries, the participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The Vote of Thanks was followed by the national anthem, bringing the celebrations to a fitting close.
