GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, successfully concluded the 9th edition of its prestigious Model United Nations (GDGMUN) on Saturday, setting a benchmark in academic discourse and global awareness among students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 750 student delegates representing 38 schools from Lucknow and other cities.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Education, Uttar Pradesh. He appreciated the students’ keen understanding of international issues and encouraged them to stay informed and responsible as global citizens. His words inspired the young delegates to contribute meaningfully to building a peaceful and progressive world.
The conference featured committees such as the UNGA, UNHRC, WHO, Lok Sabha, and AIPPM, providing students with a platform to debate pressing global challenges. Through extensive research, diplomacy, and collaboration, participants discussed issues ranging from international relations to human rights, environmental policies, and global peace initiatives.
Chairman Mr. Sarvesh Goel and Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra applauded the participants for their dedication and intellectual engagement. They emphasized how MUN conferences nurture critical thinking, leadership, and effective communication—skills essential for future leaders.
The event also included cultural performances celebrating global unity and diversity, adding a vibrant dimension to the intellectual proceedings. La Martiniere Boys College was awarded the Best Delegation Trophy for their outstanding performance across committees.
