GD GOENKA SCHOOL LUCKNOW STUDENTS ATTEND THE LAUNCH OF ‘EK PAHAL’ AT UP-112:
The Emergency Response Service UP-112 launched an awareness campaign called ‘Ek Pahal,’ aimed at enhancing public knowledge about effectively utilizing their services. The campaign was inaugurated by DGP Prashant Kumar on August 12, 2024. On this occasion, the students of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, attended the session along with the School Principal, Dr Prerna Mitra.
A senior officer highlighted that despite the availability of comprehensive services through UP-112, many people remain unaware of how to access these resources, leading to missed opportunities for timely assistance. He emphasized that the new initiative focuses on promoting community policing and encouraging active citizen involvement in emergency situations.
As part of this campaign, UP-112 teams will engage directly with the public to educate them on critical aspects, including how to promptly inform the police in the event of accidents or emergencies. This ensures that victims receive timely medical attention and are efficiently transported to hospitals, the officer added.
The officer also stressed the importance of reporting suspicious individuals or vehicles with photographic evidence to prevent potential crimes before they occur.
The students benefitted a lot from this session as it enlightened them about the services provided by UP-112 and they in turn can create awareness among others also about the available resources and services.
