GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow celebrated the vibrant festival of Onam with immense enthusiasm, filling the campus with colours, creativity, and cultural spirit. The day was marked by creative activities across grades. Toddler and nursery children crafted torans using paper mango leaves and flowers, while LKG students designed colourful paper rangolis with decorative stones. The UKG group engaged in crafting paper boats, symbolising Kerala’s boat races, while Class I students enjoyed tearing-and-pasting rangoli designs on sun sheets. Class II students added to the festivities by creating attractive Onam-themed posters, showcasing their artistic talent.
To further enhance the festive spirit, the school cafeteria served traditional Kerala dishes such as idli, sambhar, and coconut chutney, giving students a flavourful experience of the region’s cuisine. The blend of fun, food, and festivities made the day both educational and memorable.
The celebration was not only about activities but also about instilling values of unity, tradition, and cultural appreciation among young learners. It helped students understand the importance of festivals in strengthening community bonds and preserving heritage.
