Goenakn Visit at NBRI:
GD Goenka Public School organized excursions for its students to the National Botanical Research Institute and garden on Wednesday. The students of Class 4 had a tour of the garden and gathered information like the little researchers. They saw a variety of greenery along with a ‘bizzare plant’ in the Conservation Centre along with a major attraction in the cactus and succulent house. The trip educated the students about the evolution and extinction process of biological species. With the sound of the chirping birds as our alarm, we set for our return journey, said principal Raveen Pande.
The origin and development of CSIR-NBRI to its present-day status and size, with a 25-hectare botanical garden, two laboratories complexes, a rich herbarium, a voluminous library, an 85-hectare experimental-cum-extension at Banthra and Aurawan make a fascinating story, set off against a colorful historical background, spanning three distinct eras.
