GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANISED ‘GOENKAN GREEN GARDEN AND BINGO EVENT’:-
Goenka Green Garden & Bingo Event, We Goenkans believe that practical knowledge strengthens the comprehension and understanding of a subject! Keeping this ideology in mind, interactive learning was demonstrated by our enthusiastic students through hands-on activities, science experiments, fun models, science games, and other innovative pedagogy techniques.
A day full of learning with fun and understanding by doing it practically was felt in the Pre- Primary wing starting from Nursery to class I of Best CBSE GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow on 20th November 2021. The main focus of the Goenkan Green Garden and Bingo event was to instill in our little Goenkans the values of conserving the environment. It provides them with an opportunity to theoretically as well as practically understand the myriad of challenges in saving the environment.
The students from Nursery – KG also spoke about plants, parts of the plant, classification of plants, and explained the structure of the plants. They performed experiments on walking water, colour-changing flower, and the formation of smog. In addition to this, students also highlighted the ill effects of pollution and suggested methods to check different forms of pollution. The tiny tots of the Nursery tried their hands-on experiments like rain cotton balls and water detection. To highlight the problems of Mother Earth, Students showcased their models on saving Earth and waste management. To keep the event a fun-filled day, Students also organized games like “Happy and sad Earth” and “Dry and wet waste”
The Goenka premises was turned into a place of experiments where the future Scientists of Grade I, performed experiments highlighting the properties of air, spoke a few lines on causes of air pollution and recommended multiple methods to control air pollution. The concept of Density was defined through the most exciting egg experiment and by using the concept of moving water. The students best utilized the opportunity endowed to them and spoke on the process of the water cycle, shared amazing facts about the human body, explained the concept of floating and sinking. They tried hands-on chemical reactions like magic milk, lemon volcano eruption, soluble – insoluble, and salt and peppercorn experiments.
The little ones proved to the awe-struck parents that many phenomena occurring around us which look magical are not driven by magic, but have an underlying principle of science, to prove it is happening.
The Chairperson of GD Goenka Mr. Sarvesh Goel and the Principal Ms. Raven Pande appreciated the efforts of all the students and encouraged them to be a part of a clean and green environment and save our Mother Earth from the harmful effects of pollution.
