Ikebana Competition:
Ikebana competition is the art of arranging flowers. In Japanese “ike” means to arrange and “bana” origins from the word “hana” meaning flower. In Ikebana the flowers and branches are arranged so that they appear in a beautiful, simple, and natural way. GD Goenka Best CBSE School Lucknow organised the competition brought out the talent and creativity of the students. The aesthetic sense of the students could be observed through various layouts that focused on the theme “Beauty of nature”.
To develop the inclination of students towards the environment and to cherish the spring season, GD Goenka Public School, Shaheed Path branch organized IKEBANA– a flower arrangement competition on July 18, 2018 for primary section.
The students enthusiastically took part in the competition and their knowledge about the flowers was incredible. The participants arranged the vibrant, colorful and fragrant flowers in different aesthetic ways. One could not miss the interesting captions added to the arrangements. It was a beautiful display of creativity, symmetry and blend of colors. The criteria of judgment were creativity, relevance to theme, neatness, innovation and overall presentation. All the houses gave each other a tough competition.
The first position was bagged by the student’s grade 4 of Tagore house.
