Indian Lunar Exploration Programme:-
“THREE STEPS TO MOON’- AN INFORMATIVE SESSION CELEBRATING THE SUCCESS OF INDIAN SCIENTISTS HELD AT GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW.”
The Indian lunar exploration programme is an ongoing series of outer space missions by the Indian Space Research Organization for the exploration of the moon. With the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3, India became the first nation to successfully land a spacecraft in the Lunar South Pole region, and the fourth country to land on the Moon.
Basking on the success of the Indian scientists, GD Goenka Public School Lucknow, organised a session for the students of Class XI and XII on 04 October 2023, based on the landmark achievements made by ISRO.
To enlighten the students more Indian Lunar Exploration Programme on ‘THE JOURNEY OF THE INDIAN LUNAR MISSION’, Professor Punit Kumar, Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Lucknow, shared the details of the entire Chandrayaan 1, 2, and 3 missions and threw light on the aim, challenges and success stories of Indian space missions.
Professor Kumar showed slides and videos to the students showcasing the entire process of Mission Chandrayaan and the space vehicle and moon lander playing pivotal roles.
The guest speaker was welcomed by the school Principal, Dr. Prerna Mitra, who presented a memento to Professor Kumar.
The overall session was extremely enriching and enlightening for the students which definitely would be increasing their knowledge about space and upcoming lunar and solar explorations that would be taken up by India.
