Innovation in ASEAN contest:
An economic variable alternative source of energy developed by 16-year-old city lead Pranjal Srivastava has been adjusted the best in the student innovation competition at II Asian India innotech Summit held at Manila, Philippines last week. The Asian countries were represented by 60 students in this category.
“My project is a solution to problems faced due to regular outage and unavailability of appropriate alternative sources of energy. It aims to provide an efficient alternative source of energy and is also economically viable for rural areas. It also absorbs those carbon fumes that are produced while cooking.” said Pranjal, a class 10th student.
The gadget, when placed around the flame of the gas burner with a utensil covering it, absorbs waste heat produced during cooking. It directly changes the heat energy into electrical energy, storing it into a battery. Thus the excess energy from the gas stove which is otherwise wasted can be utilized to charge various other gadgets later.
