STUDENTS OF GD GOENKA SCHOOL PRESENT AN ARRAY OF GLOBAL DANCE FORMS ON THE OCCASION OF ‘INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY’:
On 29th April 2025, GD Goenka Public School marked International Dance Day with vibrant celebrations, bringing joy and learning to students from Toddlers to Grade 2. The school theatre was beautifully set up for the occasion, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The young learners enthusiastically explored global dance forms and learned the rhythms and steps with excitement. They swayed, twirled and danced, enjoying every moment of the experience. PowerPoint presentation was also shown to the students, introducing them to various global dance forms.
A special assembly was organised by students of Grades 1 and 2, where students showcased their hard work and learning. The highlight of the assembly was the mesmerizing performances of Shanziwu (fan dance) from China and Jarabe Tapatio (hat dance) from Mexico. Grade 1 and 2 students confidently displayed their skills, captivating the audience with their spirited moves and vibrant costumes.
On this occasion, the school Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra addressed the students and shared her insights with them and highlighted the importance of this day..The celebration not only entertained but also educated students about cultural diversity through dance. This enriching experience fostered cultural appreciation, enhanced students’ confidence, and highlighted the importance of performing arts in holistic development.
The International Dance Day celebration was a grand success, and the students had a wonderful time, making it a memorable experience.
