“The roar of the tiger is the heartbeat of the jungle — let it never fade.”
International Tiger Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and awareness on 29th July in Pre-Primary segment. The day aimed to educate children about the importance of tigers in our ecosystem and the need to protect them.
The celebration began with an engaging introduction by the teachers, who shared fascinating facts about tigers, their habitats, and why they are endangered through a presentation. Students from Nursery to UKG enjoyed a captivating story enactment titled “Tigo the Tiger” in the Activity Centre, which brought the message of protecting tigers to life in a fun and memorable way.
Toddlers participated in a fun tearing and pasting activity to decorate a tiger using orange and black paper. Nursery students crafted tiger-themed headgear and proudly wore them. LKG students made tiger face masks using craft materials. UKG students created unique tiger faces using ice cream sticks and craft materials. Grade I children made a dot-to-dot tiger face, coloured it and wrote thoughts about “How can we save tigers” and Grade II students circled describing words related to tigers in a worksheet, framed sentences using those words and coloured a tiger picture.
The young learners from the Cambridge section showcased their creativity by designing vibrant posters and writing impactful slogans to spread the message of protecting tigers, a species rapidly becoming endangered. To further engage their peers, the students organized an energetic rally across the school, moving through different floors and sharing important information about the significance of tigers in our ecosystem. They also had the chance to interact with teachers, Principal Ma’am, and Chairman Sir, who encouraged them to be mindful of the importance of preserving wildlife and protecting the environment.
The celebration was a blend of learning and creativity. Through engaging stories, hands-on activities, and meaningful reflections, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of saving tigers and forests. It was a day that fostered empathy, responsibility, and a sense of environmental stewardship among the young students.
