Investiture Ceremony held at GDGPS (GD Goenka Public School), Lucknow. GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow firmly believes that leadership is a quality that is nurtured and its seeds are sown during the early years of childhood in the enriching soil of one’s school. GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow entrusted reliance and confidence in the new Student Council, for the session 2021-22 through the Investiture Ceremony held on 17 February 2022, in the school premises.
The ceremony was presided over by the honourable Chief Guest Mr. Prakash D, IPS, Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force, Uttar Pradesh.
“Leadership is not about the next election it is about the next generation”
Mr. Prakash D has been the recipient of several honours and awards which include ‘President’s Medal’ and ‘United Nations Peace Medal’ for distinguished services.
The Investiture Ceremony has been much delayed due to Pandemic and classes being held in online mode yet in spite of all the restraints the office bearers carried out their duties with full earnestness and upheld the school motto of ‘Higher, Stronger, Brighter’.
The programme commenced with the school song sung spiritedly by the school choir. The Head Girl, Sonakshi Gupta, in her address, expressed her gratitude to the school authorities for bestowing trust in her. She spoke about all the growth opportunities which the school has given to her since the time she joined the school in 2011 and responsibilities that have been carried out by School Council in organizing various school events in the past year.
The Chief Guest addressed the audience and commended the Chairman for his service to humanity through his vision in the form of an institution like GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. He addressed the members of the Student Council and told them to become true leaders by knowing the way, going the way, and showing the way to other students of the school. He advised them to make the best of their time, prioritize their work and be role models for others to follow.
A memento was presented to the Chief Guest, Mr. Prakash D by the Chairman and the Principal.
Next was the Investiture Ceremony. Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Prakash D along with the Chairman of the school Mr. Sarvesh Goel and the Principal Ms. Raveen Pande decorated the badges on the students who were named the Council Members. Sonakshi Gupta and Ishaan Arora were conferred with the badges of Head Girl and Head Boy respectively. Hamnnah Iqbal and Abhimanyu Srivastava were pinned with the badge of Vice Head Girl and Vice Head Boy respectively.
In his address, the Chairperson, Mr. Sarvesh Goel, warmly congratulated the newly elected members of the Student Council and their parents. He said that it was an important day in the lives of students and they have been given the opportunity to lead the other students based on their past records in school. The Chairman shared his strong conviction that all the office-bearer’s would-be custodians of the school’s special ethos and prove worthy of carrying this lofty responsibility to fruition. He appreciated each student’s hard work and passion that they showed even in this pandemic. He asked them to continue to do their best and work with full integrity.
A round of photos was held with the Chief Guest, Chairman, Principal, the newly elected Council Members, and their parents.
The ceremony drew to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. The Investiture ceremony instilled a sense of duty and responsibility in all the students to take the name of their school to new and bigger heights.
