Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program:-
GD GOENKA SCHOOL LUCKNOW STUDENT PRANJAL SRIVASTAVA & SELECTED FOR INSPIRE MANAK AWARD NATIONAL LEVEL EXHIBITION (2019) SET TO VISIT JAPAN FOR SAKURA SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM (SSHP)
One among Nine Students Selected from Uttar Pradesh for the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Science Plan). Inspire-Manak is a flagship programme implemented by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India for attracting talent among students to study Science and pursue careers in research. Under this scheme, students from middle and high school are selected to prepare a Science Project/Model and they participate in a three-tier competition at District, State, and National Level. The exhibited projects are evaluated by a jury of experts.
The student of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow, Pranjal Srivastava, a student of class X then, received the Inspire Manak Award at the National Level Exhibition 2019 for his model of ‘Thermal Power Generating Stand’ and as a reward got selected for the SAKURA Science High School Program (SSHP) of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) under which the winners of MANAK program are invited to visit Japan.
A total of 60 students got selected from India amongst the winners of National Level Exhibition and Project Competitions and GD Goenka student Pranjal Srivastava was one of them. He is also one of the nine students chosen from Uttar Pradesh for the program. The selected students were to visit Japan in the year 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SSHP program could not be implemented for the last three years.
After a long wait, the proud moment has finally arrived and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) has invited the 60 high school students to Japan in November 2023 under the SAKURA program. JST has been implementing the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Science Plan) for enhancing exchange between Asia and Japan of the youth who will play a crucial role in the future field of Science and Technology.
The invited high school students will experience Japan’s advanced science and technology by visiting Japan’s top-level universities and research institutes and attending lectures by Japanese Nobel laureates, etc.
It would indeed be a very enriching and wholesome experience for Pranjal and would lay a strong foundation in his journey of becoming a renowned scientist and earning fame and recognition for himself and India.
