THE CENTRUM LUCKNOW ORGANISED THE FOURTH EDITION OF ‘LUCKNOW RUN’
THOUSANDS OF PARTICIPANTS RAN FOR GOOD HEALTH AND FITNESS:-
After the stupendous success of the last three editions (2019, 2020, and 2021), this year again the most awaited and renowned event of Lucknow city, ‘Lucknow Run 2022’ was organized on Sunday 06 November 2022, at GD Goenka Public School located in Sushant Golf City, Lucknow. The organizer of the ‘Lucknow run’ is ‘The Centrum’ Lucknow, which, in association with the department of Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture, has successfully organised this prestigious half marathon. ‘Lucknow Run’ is an annual event that has now become the identity of our city Lucknow. Through this event, we want to spread the message of good health and a prosperous lifestyle among the people. One of the main objectives of this half marathon is to promote the culture of sports in the country.
This run is now organized at the international level and is India’s second run to be recognized by the ‘World Athletics Association. ‘Lucknow Run’ is approved by the ‘U.P. Athletic Association’ too.
The ‘Lucknow Run’ was organized into four categories; 21 km, 10 km, 05 km, and 03 km, where the 21 km half marathon started at 05:30 am, the 10 km run at 06:00 am, and the 05 km and 03 km fun runs at 07:00 am.
Eminent personalities of the city and dignitaries like, Lt Gen Vivek Kashyap, AVSM, VSM, Central Command, Shri Anil Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Shri Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary, Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Shri Piyush Mordia, Joint Police Commissioner, Dr. Balu Kenchappa, Regional Director Reserve Bank of India, Lucknow, and Dr. Jawaid Alam Khan, Joint Director & Chairman Sahodaya Schools’ Complex Lucknow, were present on the occasion and flagged off the different runs. The event was also marked by the presence of Principals and Educationists of renowned schools in Lucknow.
The purpose of this marathon is not only to motivate people to be healthy but also to make them aware of the good health of their surroundings and environment.
More than two thousand people took part in ‘Lucknow Run 2022’, which included participants from different schools, the Indian Army, the Corporate sector, and many running groups and organizations. All the winners and participants were awarded medals and certificates. Here we would also like to highlight one more important fact about ‘Lucknow Run’, the route plan of this half marathon is IAAF AIMS certified and was made very carefully, keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the participants. The entire run was organised in the lush green surroundings of Sushant Golf City. It was a different experience to run among the greenery spread all around in the mild cold of the November morning. The winners of the ‘Lucknow Run’ Half Marathon 2022 are as follows: Jaitnder Singh in the male category and Balbinder Kaur in the female category were declared winners in the 21 km run category. Saiyuv Khan and Isha Sharma were the winners of the 10 km run category in the male and female categories respectively.
