‘Magic Of Science’ activity conducted at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. Science is a blend of historically accumulated knowledge and skills. These practical skills encompass a range from problem-solving to data analysis, they have a wide reach and can often be applied beyond the confines of the classroom. The instruction of these skills holds significant importance. Starting from a very young age, students initiate thinking about the world around them. They formulate questions and subsequently employ observations and evidence to address them. Students typically generate intelligent, intriguing, and testable questions that they enthusiastically pose. As educators, our focus is to cultivate these questions in them and, foster innate curiosity about the world. With this notion in mind, our GD Goenka Public School conducted experimental activities based on fruits on September 27, 2023.
Students from classes from Toddlers to Nursery engaged in the experiment of sinking or floating fruits. Teachers elucidated this process through a live demonstration in the classroom. Kindergarten students engaged in an experiment of floating ketchup.
These activities imparted valuable lessons to the young Goenkans, fostering greater observance and inquisitiveness. They acquired the skills of formulating questions, exploring novel avenues for research, and devising innovative methods to address inquiries or solve problems.
