National Army Day:-
GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATED NATIONAL ARMY DAY
GDGPS expressed its admiration and gratitude to the Indian Army by celebrating National Army Day with great zeal. This day is celebrated on January 15 to commemorate the day when Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over General Sir Francis Butcher as the Commander-in-Chief of India in January 1949. This day is a grand celebration of India’s military might and its unsung heroes.
In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the surge due to the Omicron variant, the 2022 celebrations were held online by the students.
Primary, Middle, and Senior segments took part in paying they’re expressed their heartfelt gratitude and tribute to those who remained undeterred while laying down their lives for the sake of the nation.
Students of the Primary wing paid tribute to the gallant Indian Army through various activities such as JAM sessions, reciting patriotic poems, speeches, poster making, etc. Some students showcased their true spirit of nationalism by dressing up like soldiers. They also showed their desire to serve the nation by joining the Indian Army. Students were told about the heroic efforts of the Indian Army and the qualities of discipline and dedication which could be imbibed by the students.
An online quiz based on the Indian Army was conducted for the students of grade VIII. Students answered questions about various achievements of the Army. Ritu Raj Gupta (VIII D), Pranesh Prithu (VIII D) bagged the first position by scoring full marks.
Students of grade X designed a poster to pay tribute to the Indian Army.
Students of grade XII expressed their profound gratitude towards the Indian Army for their service and contribution through article writing on the topic,’ Patriotism and Youth’. Students discussed the idea of patriotism in class and what it means to them
